With its motto, “The University Closest to Business Life,” Okan University was founded by Okan Culture, Education, and Sports Foundation in 1999 under the leadership of Bekir Okan, a well-known industrialist and entrepreneur contributing to Turkish business life for 45 years with his successful projects.
Okan University is now providing a learning medium for 25 thousand students with its 160 diploma programs, hence emerging as a huge educational body with its 9 faculties (Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Faculty of Medicine) and numerous schools (School of Applied Sciences, Vocational School and Vocational School of Health Services, School of Music and Theatre) as well as 3 Institutes for graduate studies.
Apart from the campuses located in Tuzla, Mecidiyeköy and Kadıköy, Okan University is now offering qualified learning environments in Beyoğlu and Bahçelievler campuses since 2016.
With many diploma programs tailored to the needs of business life, and many collaborations with more than 1000 companies and institutions, Okan University aims not only to provide a better learning and teaching environment. It also aims to prepare students to business life in an effective way through pioneering programs that include well-structured courses initiated for the first time by Okan University: “Career and life”, “Happy life” and “Entrepreneurship”.
Consequently, as being closest to Business Life and bringing theory and application together, Okan University is proud of contributing to the training of qualified graduates who will become valuable members of both Turkey’s and the world’s future workforce.
OKAN UNIVERSITY PILOTAGE DEPARTMENT
The Pilotage Department is a bachelor's degree program established at the Faculty of Applied Science at Okan University and accepts the first pilot candidates in the 2014-2015 academic year. The undergraduate program aims to train pilot candidates who will be able to fly in every aspect of the world with their unique educational approach, dynamic, fast-thinking, foreign language skills in the developing aviation sector. Thanks to our strong academic staff, dynamic and innovative training system and sectoral collaborations, our students who participate in the Pilotage Department will make the difference in this area as the best pilots in addition to meeting the current pilot need.

OKAN UNIVERSITY FLIGHT TRAINING ORGANISATION
Our Flight Training Organization (FTO) was authorised by General Directorate of Civil Aviation as TR-FTO (A) - 036 on 28.03.2017. For now, the organisation has the authority of PPL (A) Theoretical Knowledge Training and ATP (A) Modular Theoretical Knowledge Training and plans flight training for pilot candidates. For the time being, it carries out flight training with other flight schools that have contracts. If requested, we will also provide our theoretical knowledge trainings to pilot candidates outside our university flight trainining undergraduate program.
